This doesn’t need much comment; however, I will say that in my own experience, the people you see in these photos aren’t simply Southern caricatures, they are real people. I just might be related to some of them.
A side note: I’ve found that the combination of patriotism and insistence on speaking English is inversely proportional to actual command of the English language.
